I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Nutritionist with a special interest in plant-based (vegan and vegetarian) nutrition.
I have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biochemistry from the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Sydney. I am also currently studying towards a second Master's degree in Science (Biotechnology) at the University of Melbourne.
I have extensive experience in the nutritional management of:
- Food intolerances (including IBS and the low FODMAPs approach, and food chemical intolerance)
- Insulin Resistance
- Type 2 Diabetes
- High cholesterol
- High blood pressure
- Weight loss/gain
- Sports nutrition
- Vegan/vegetarian pregnancy and breastfeeding
Please note that I do not see clients aged under 16 years of age. If you are looking for a vegan-friendly dietitian for your baby or child, or you are under the age of 16, I routinely recommend Amanda Benham, who is a vegan Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Nutritionist located in Queensland. Amanda consults in person (Brisbane) and via Skype/phone nationally. She has extensive experience in paediatric vegan nutrition and is contactable via her website: http://www.humanherbivore.com/
If you are aged between 16 and 18 years of age, please bring your parent or legal guardian with you to your appointment.
I also do not see patients diagnosed with eating disorders (including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder or EDNOS), as this is a highly-specialised area of dietetics which requires extensive further study. Please use the 'Find an Accredited Practising Dietitian' search function on the Dietitian's Association of Australia website (daa.asn.au) to find a dietitian specialising in these conditions.
I am currently available on Saturdays and Sundays between 10am and 6pm, and will have availability on Monday and Thursday afternoons between 2-7pm, from 1st December onwards.
Please use the contact form (on the Contact page) to email me for all enquiries regarding consultations. Please note that I am generally booked 6-8 weeks in advance. If you could also include some information about your current diet and any nutrition goals, that would be greatly appreciated (so I can work out whether I am the best fit for you). I am more than happy to provide recommendations and referrals to other dietitians who may be more suitable for specific medical conditions or individual requirements.
Practice Location (Fitzroy North, Melbourne)
I am currently consulting at Stable Health Clinic (formerly Fitzroy Therapeutics), located at 155 St. Georges Road, Fitzroy North 3068 (see map below)
The clinic is located opposite the north-west corner of the Edinburgh Gardens. There is ample 1P and 2P parking available in the surrounding side streets. If you are coming via public transport, the number 11 tram (West Preston - Victoria Harbour Docklands) stops right out the front of the clinic (stop 21/Alfred Crescent).
When you arrive, please wait on the bench in the reception area and I will come down to meet you - there is a great pile of magazines to keep you occupied if you're a little early!
My consulting room is situated up a fairly narrow set of stairs, so please let me know in advance if you have restricted mobility and I will arrange a ground floor room to accommodate you.

What can I expect from an initial consultation?
Initial consultations are 60-75 minutes duration to allow me to get a good understanding of your medical history, medication and supplement use, diet history, exercise regimen, lifestyle considerations, and - most importantly - your health and nutrition goals.
Do I need to bring anything to the consultation?
Please bring a copy of any relevant blood tests and a list of your regular medications and dietary supplements including vitamins, minerals and herbal preparations (or you're welcome to bring in the bottles if there aren't too many!). Though it isn't strictly necessary, if you are able to keep a written food diary for 3 days prior to the consultation that will also be helpful.
If you have a chronic medical condition such as Type 2 Diabetes, you may be eligible for a Medicare Chronic Disease Management (CDMP, previously known as EPC) Plan from your GP. This plan entitles you to a rebate of $52.95 for up to 5 sessions per calendar year. Please discuss whether you are eligible with your GP.
The out of pocket/gap fees with a Medicare CDMP are as follows:
Initial consultations (60-75 minutes): $92.05 ($72.05 concession*)
Review consultations (30 minutes): $22.05 ($12.05 concession*)
*Concession pricing applies to Health Care Card holders and Pensioners only
Private Health Funds
If you have Extras cover with your private health fund, you may be eligible for a rebate towards the cost of the consultation. Please enquire with your private health care fund whether 'dietetics' (item numbers 500 and 600) is included in your level of cover.
Failure to attend an appointment without adequate (24 hours) notice will incur a fee of $50.
