Bircher Muesli for Disorganised People

Sad but true, some of us are so disorganised that we lack the foresight to realise that if we want delicious bircher muesli for breakfast, we have to get our act together the night before, or suffer the consequences in the morning. Pray for us; our lives are chaos.

Alas, there is another way. I present to you: the Lazy Man's bircher, which you can make in the morning and only has to sit for 5-10 minutes while you're showering/dressing/applying make-up:

Makes 1 serve, because hey, we're probably also too disorganised to lock down a boyfriend/girlfriend anyway.


-1 green apple, grated with a grater or a mandolin
-1/2 cup of your favourite muesli 
-1/2 cup of plant milk of your choice
-1 tablespoon of ground flaxseeds or ground chia seeds (this soaks up the excess liquid when you let it sit for 10 minutes, and also provides plant-based omega-3s)
-Spices: I used cinnamon (about 1/2 teaspoon) and a sprinkle of nutmeg (which makes it taste like apple pie)
-Optional: nuts, raw cacao nibs, shredded coconut, more fruit (berries would be nice), lemon juice
-Sweetener (also optional): maple syrup, rice malt syrup etc 


1. Add all ingredients to a bowl, stir to combine and allow to sit for 10 minutes to thicken, then serve.
